The Technology Office makes every effort to assure that the FWS is available at all times. Please be aware however, as a supporting system, other systems in the College have a higher priority for support and availability. The College systems rarely experience downtime, but we are unable to guarentee 100% availability.
Backups of FWS are created nightly for disaster recovery purposes. Due to the nature of these backups we are unable to restore individual files as part of the standard support. For this reason, faculty are encouraged to backup their projects locally or utilize Gitlab for version control.
Every effort is made to ensure that faculty are made aware of scheduled downtime in advance of mainenance events. For routine maintenance windows, announcements will be posted on the main FWS homepage. In the event of an extended maintenance window, faculty with accounts on FWS will be emailed in advance of the outage.
As part of maintaining a stable and secure environment, operating system packages are upgraded to their latest versions regularly.
